Master plans

Each community, supported by technical partners, developed one master plan for developingthe use of solar thermal in one representative urban block, quarter or area. According to the specific priorities this area shall included typical cases of building renovation and/or cases of protected buildings.

  • definition of the quarter
  • technical analysis of building and supply structure
  • organizational analysis of responsible decision makers from target groups
  • establishment of an implementation board for the quarter
  • comprehensive concept for energy supply (priority on ST implementation, combined with other passive, energy efficiency and renewable energies sources) in the quarter, incl. building audits for characteristic buildings
  • communication concept for the quarter

The following participating community partners identified priorities for the master plan:

 

Lisbon

compatibility of ST integration and building renovation with listed protected buildings, close cooperation with authority for historic buildings

set-up of a cataster for historic quarters including different levels of permissions and requirements for ST integration

advanced architectural integration

Berlin

grid and micro-grid solutions for a collective solar/renewable energy supply for groups of buildings / blocks

comprehensive concepts (passive measures combined with renewable energy supply)

involvement of ESCOs, innovative contracting models

soft measures (networking, communication, PR)

Province of Benevento

Memorandum of Understanding with its Municipalities for including ST among the measures of energy efficiency in existing buildings

Revision and integration of the Coordination Plan for Province Territory, which could take into account requirement for ST integration in protected areas

Province of Pescara

Focusing on the Municipalities involved in the area recently damaged by the earthquake and thus needing substantial building renovations

Revision and integration of the Coordination Plan for Province Territory, which could take into account requirement for ST integration in protected areas

Barcelona

Selection of existing buildings suitable for installation of a solar thermal building, analysis of roof spaces and collector integration possibilities and feasibility study,

Harmonization of architectonic integration criteria and its application regarding coexisting local regulation,

Stakeholder Plan oriented to break detected barriers (technical, legal and economic)in STS installation in existing buildings, based on the results of the Diagnosis Study of STS in Barcelona

Revision and proposals for the improvement of existing public financing tools and models of involvement of third parties
